1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the 4EverFile platform ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.
These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service, including individual users, organizational accounts, and API consumers.
2. Description of Service
4EverFile provides a blockchain-anchored document management platform that enables users to:
- Upload, store, and organize documents securely
- Generate cryptographic hashes (SHA-256) of documents for integrity verification
- Anchor document fingerprints to a public distributed ledger for immutable proof of existence
- Encrypt documents using zero-knowledge architecture
- Store documents in permanent, decentralized storage networks
- Create approval workflows and collect digital signatures
- Generate verifiable certificates of authenticity
3. User Accounts
To use the Service, you must register for an account. You are responsible for:
- Providing accurate and complete registration information
- Maintaining the security and confidentiality of your account credentials
- All activity that occurs under your account
- Safeguarding any cryptographic keys generated during registration
You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account. We are not liable for any loss arising from unauthorized access to your account.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Upload, store, or transmit any content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable
- Violate any applicable local, state, national, or international law or regulation
- Upload malicious files, viruses, or any code designed to disrupt or damage the Service
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other user accounts, or connected systems
- Circumvent or disable any security features or access controls
- Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to access the Service without prior written consent
- Resell, redistribute, or sublicense the Service without authorization
5. File Upload and Storage
By uploading files to the Service, you represent and warrant that:
- You own or have the right to upload and share the content
- The content does not infringe on any third-party intellectual property rights
- The content complies with all applicable laws and regulations
We employ enterprise-grade file security validation including magic-byte verification, extension whitelisting, and content scanning. Files that fail validation will be rejected. We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms.
6. Blockchain Anchoring
When you anchor a document, a cryptographic fingerprint (hash) of the file is recorded on a public distributed ledger. This process is irreversible — once a document hash is anchored, it cannot be modified or deleted from the ledger.
The anchoring process records only the hash of your document, never the document content itself. The blockchain transaction serves as proof of existence at a specific point in time.
7. Permanent Storage
Documents submitted to the Permanent Vault are stored on a decentralized storage network. Once a document is stored permanently:
- The document becomes publicly accessible via its storage identifier
- We cannot delete, modify, or restrict access to permanently stored documents
- Permanent storage credits are non-refundable once consumed
You are solely responsible for ensuring that documents submitted for permanent storage are appropriate for public, immutable availability.
8. Billing and Payments
Certain features of the Service require payment. By purchasing credits or subscribing to a plan, you agree to:
- Pay all fees associated with your use of paid features
- Provide accurate and up-to-date billing information
- Accept that blockchain transaction fees (gas fees) are non-refundable
All payments are processed securely through our third-party payment processor. We do not store your payment card details on our servers.
9. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, code, features, and documentation, is the intellectual property of 4EverFile and its licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of the Service without prior written consent.
You retain all ownership rights to the documents and content you upload to the Service.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, 4EverFile shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.
Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure at all times.
While we make every effort to ensure the reliability of blockchain anchoring and permanent storage features, we cannot guarantee the continued operation of third-party infrastructure providers.
12. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms. Upon termination:
- Your access to the Service will be revoked
- Documents already anchored on the blockchain remain on-chain permanently
- Documents in permanent storage remain accessible indefinitely
- Non-permanent documents may be deleted after a 30-day grace period
13. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email or through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
